Pleading Our Case Before God

Someone in my social media circles recently used the phrase, “new day, new anointing”, this was in reference to a complaint about a broadcast on radio (MCF) being an old message that had aired before. The words struck me and in that moment I thought of how the Bible never grows old, there are stories I have heard since I was a child but keep learning new aspects from them. The phrase ‘new day, new anointing’ even came more to life today when I found the commentary below in my archives. As I went back to it, I couldn’t help but wish I had lived by the anointing I had back then in October 2015 when I saved it on my PC, its message holds so true 3 years on and I hope you get as refreshed as I did  reading it.

Just like lawyers quote acts/legal documents to present their cases we need the word of God to declare His promises in our life. Jesus overcame temptation by using the word of God. Luke 4.1ff .We can overcome and win temptation and storms in our lives if we know how to plead our case. God depends on us to come back to Him with His word. He is calling us not to just stand on His word but to remind Him of his work on our behalf.
Isaiah 43:26 “Put me in remembrance, let us plead together, and declare that you may be justified.” This calls for us to know the word of God, our law, God can only rule in our favor if our case is based on His precedence, His word.

1 John 3:22-23 “And whatever we ask, we receive of him because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”
The above calls for us to know what the word is telling us to do, then declare it in our lives’ revisit it and keep claiming the word against what the devil is saying. Reading the word and meditating on it also helps to birth a vision in our lives. In studying the word you see how it ought to be, God lays a burden in our hearts and shows us how to deal with it. The word further strengthens us when we are ridiculed or discourages teaching us how to respond to threats and challenges in life.

Problems are most times opportunities to make us stronger in Christ but without the word as our anchor we miss out on our blessings. This is of course easily said than done especially with life’s demands and living life on the fast lane but the word gives one of the Holy Spirit’s name as Advocate. John 14:15-17 “...And i will ask the father and He will give you another advocate who will never leave you. He is the holy spirit who leads us in truth.”

Wow with the Holy Spirit as our advocate, Favor will only stop when we accept the devil’s accusations, so come on together with your advocate start applying some of those promises. Psalm 23 is a good place to start. “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want...”
